Solar Cancer (June 21) marks the onset of Summer in the northern hemisphere. Plants set their fruit to ripen for harvest. This is a great metaphor for the strength and focus possible during Solar Cancer.
Wherever Cancer may be in your chart*, the passage of the Sun in Cancer across that part of your life brings the synergy of productive nourishment and the protective life force required for a strong outcome (ripening). This is an important time to focus on you want to produce over the coming months.
Cardinal (initiating) Water (emotion/feeling) sign Cancer is domestic, and that includes home and municipality. It knows how to create a strong buffer in its environment. This is a purposeful force of nature for any project.
It also has the capacity to make a comfortable environment for others. There is a helpful public relations characteristic to Cancer. One way to look at this is to ask what part of your life (consider the location of Cancer in your chart) might benefit from a new approach? The crab makes progress by knowing when to move sideways or to back into things a new way. How might you use this month to find ways to adjust your mood (Moon, Cancer) to better reflect your strength of character (Sun) and meet your personal need for growth (theme of the season)?

The Full Moon in Capricorn arrives first. This is a time to complete things that will be useful, reliable, or stabilize for the long term. The New Moon in Cancer arrives mid-July, with a fresh, conducive push toward whatever we need for a good harvest.
